Indra's product line of highly efficient and energy saving boards are designed for offloading computing cycles during compression and encryption of data being backed up. Ideally used for disk to disk backup and tape encryption appliances, these boards have been tested and deployed across many popular backup software and operating systems. Indra also offers compression acceleration for Web traffic.

Our product family is divided into 3 categories: SS Series | SC Series | WE Series

SS Series

Backed up data needs to be secured. The SS Series of boards deliver real time compression and encryption of data as it is being backed up. This offloads two major tasks from the server processor preventing bottlenecks during backup. The engines are split to perform the separate tasks of compression and encryption separately. The data is compressed first and then encrypted - all in real time during backup.

Using the AES algorithm in ECB Mode with a 128 Bit Block size, the variable key size is changeable on a per block basis. Supports both 128 and 256 bit Key sizes. With PCI-X compliant interface, these boards work across the x86 Intel platforms both for 32 bit and 64 bit architecture. They work with almost any flavour of Linux and Windows 2000, Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP.

The SS 300 has 2 engines - one for compression and the other for encryption. The high-end SS MX3 has 3 compression engines and 3 encryption engines working together.

SC Series

Today, the majority of real time compression is done using software, with the usual problems of server scalability and bottlenecks. The SC series are a series of boards designed specifically to tackle server overloads for such real time compression needs.

Ideally used in real time disk to disk backup server environments, these boards can achieve upto 10 times compression throughput than software and reduce processor overload by as much as 68%. With PCI-X or PCI-express compliant interface, these boards work across the x86 based Intel platforms both for 32 and 64 bit architecture. The boards are compatible with almost any flavour of Linux and Windows 2000, Windows 2003 server and Windows XP. The algorithm used is exactly the same as Gzip or WinZip ensuring these boards deliver higher performance without compromising on quality.

The SC 300 has 2 compression engines that are able to achieve compression upto 150 MB/sec. The SC MX3 has 6 compression engines that can achieve compression throughput upto 450 MB/sec. The new SC MX4e, with SuperCompress technology, achieves 500 MB/s with just 4 compression engines.

WE 300

For high traffic portals and websites that require large processing power, the WE 300 is an ideal coprocessor board that assists the load balancer, SSL accelerators or the traffic manager for offloading the processor cycles used for compression of the data.
