StorCompress 300^TM

StorSecure 300/500^TM

StorCompress 300^TM card consists of two compression engines. This is suitable for disk to disk backup using Retrospect 7.5 and above.

How it works:

Administrator enables compression from Retrospect GUI.
Retrospect^® recognizes the presence of the card and offloads compression to hardware, for best backup speed.
During restore, the hardware is used if present. If not, Retrospect^® will perform decompression in software.

With typical compression ratio between 2:1 and 8:1, StorCompress 300^TM will allow for substantial savings in disk space.

StorSecure 300/500^TM card has one compression engine and one encryption engine. This is suitable for enabling tape encryption with Retrospect 7.5 and above.

How it works:

Administrator enables compression and encryption from Retrospect GUI.
Data is compressed first and then encrypted, both in hardware. CPU is free from this burden.
Data is backed up to tape, with virtually the same speed as if encryption was not enabled.
