Indra announces SC MX4e, with SuperCompress technology

San Jose, CA - Nov 21, 2007

Indra Networks announces immediate availability SC MX4e, the newest member of the StorCompress family. SC MX4e incorporates Indra's newly developed SuperCompress technology, which delivers significantly higher throughput per compression core, enabling more than 500 MB/s throughput in a low profile card. As with previous members of the StorCompress family, the compressed data produced by SC MX4e is compatible with gzip and zlib open source software.

SC MX4e is a low profile PCI-Express card. It requires a x4 lane or larger slot, to support its high throughput. Device drivers are available for both Linux and Windows.

Applications for SC MX4e include VTL systems, backup servers, compression of large databases and compression of streaming data. Using a very simple API provided by Indra Networks, OEM customers can quickly integrate SC MX4e in their applications, for the fastest time to market. The API is accessible from either user or kernel level. Additionally, data integrity is ensured with parity checking on data buses as well as end to end error checking with CRC32 or Adler32 checksums.

Indra's StorCompress products maximize network bandwidth, available storage capacity and system throughput via lossless data compression. By reducing the size of the data, on average, to about one-third of its original size with almost no CPU utilization, StorCompress products enable network servers and storage appliances to handle large amounts of data without affecting their throughput. When used in storage appliances, Indra's products will allow OEMs to offer higher capacity products at a much lower cost.

Availability SC MX4e is available immediately, with a lead time of 8 to 10 weeks. For sales related inquires, please send an email to sales@indranetworks.com.
