Indra Networks StorCompress 100 now supported by InMage DR-Scout™

San Jose, CA - January 19, 2006

Indra Networks and InMage Systems today announced the integration of Indra Networks StorCompress 100 compression card with InMage's DR-Scout™ software. This joint solution will allow customers who use DR-Scout™ from InMage to employ Indras hardware-based compression technology to maximize system performance in a seamless manner. StorCompress 100 from Indra Networks is a PCI based compression accelerator that performs lossless compression in hardware to augment storage capacity while off-loading the compute-intensive task of compression to a dedicated processor. InMage DR-Scout™ is a proven solution for data protection of enterprise applications such as file services, email servers, databases and ERP installations. DR-Scout™ comprehensively addresses both Local Backup and Disaster Recovery needs by leveraging Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology.

"As a provider of hardware-based acceleration solutions for networking and storage applications, one of our main goals is to forge partnerships with third party software vendors and platforms. We are very pleased that by supporting Indra's compression technology, customers can now leverage the benefits of hardware-based compression in a seamless and cost-effective manner," said Anupama Anantharaman, Indra Networks' V.P. of Business Development. The joint solution consists of modifications to DR-Scout™ software to support StorCompress API. For the end user, hardware-based compression is enabled by plugging in the StorCompress 100 card into the PCI slot of a server or an appliance, and selecting "Hardware Compression" option via the DR-Scout™ GUI. This usage model makes using hardware compression a completely transparent operation from a customer's perspective. StorCompress range of products offer throughput up to 135 MB/s per card.

"Support for Indra's hardware-based compression helps us achieve the low profile appliance configurations desired by our partners while retaining our three stage data de-duplication technology without any loss of backward compatibility. Integrating Indra's compression engine into our software was very easy and took very little effort and time. This partnership is a step in the right direction towards fulfilling our vision of software driven data protection that optimally leverages open hardware solutions." said InMage CTO Rajeev Atluri.
