Indra Networks Announces Availability Of StorCompress 200

Indra revs up StorCompress product line with the new StorCompress 200 to offer faster throughput for Mid-size and Enterprise-class customers

Indra Networks announced today that it is expanding its existing StorCompress product line with StorCompress 200, a PCI based compression coprocessor. Indra's StorCompress line of products perform lossless compression in hardware to increase the disk storage capacity by 2x to 10x. With data compression rate up to 100 MB/s and decompression rate up to 125 MB/s, StorCompress 200 doubles the throughput offered by its predecessor StorCompress 100. The "deflate" compression algorithm used in StorCompress 200 is compatible with the well-known open source software gzip and zlib. This guarantees that the data compressed by StorCompress 200 will be decompressible by gzip or zlib software running on the client computer.

Indra's StorCompress products provide customers with a cost-effective, easy to install, and easy to manage solutions and can fit into a variety of applications such as Disk-To-Disk backup, Disk-To-Disk-To-Tape backup, data replication, data archival, and transmission of time-critical data on bandwidth-constrained networks. Indra's technology can significantly improve the backup speed and storage capacity without affecting customer's existing infrastructure.
