Indra Updates WebEnhance Lineup

Indra's WebEnhance 200 with dual compression engines and 800 Mbps throughput makes an ideal choice for Medium to Large enterprises
San Jose, CA - June 15, 2004

Indra Networks announced today the availability of its next generation compression co-processor, called the WebEnhance 200. WebEnhance 200 is a PCI-based accelerator card that can compress web pages such as HTML, JavaScript, etc. in real-time before they are transmitted on the network, essentially expanding existing bandwidth capacity by up to 6x. With a throughput of 800 Mbps, WebEnhance 200 offers twice the performance of its predecessor, WebEnhance 100. The upgraded hardware consists of 2 compression engines running in tandem and a load balancer that ensures even usage of the two engines. Indra Networks' data compression technology is based on industry-standard gzip algorithm, which ensures compatibility with virtually all popular web browsers available today and does not require any special software installation on the end-user machine.

WebEnhance is 200 ideal for web-based applications that require high performance web servers and traffic managers. "Although software based compression is available, it puts a significant computational burden on the host machine's CPU, causing it to perform below par and adversely affecting its overall system performance. For customer-driven services and mission-critical applications, Indra's technology can significantly speed up application performance and improve response time. WebEnhance 200 allows you to offer a higher level of service without changing your existing infrastructure", said Monish Shah, CEO of Indra Networks.

Indra's WebEnhance product line addresses the critical needs of website operators by performing data compression on dedicated processors and thereby removing the additional burden placed on the host CPUs. Indra's compression technology maximizes bandwidth usage and enables faster downloads, shorter response time, and savings in bandwidth costs. The WebEnhance cards can be plugged into any server that has a PCI slot and require minimal amount of time on installation, configuration, and management.

Availability WebEnhance 200 is available worldwide immediately. For sales related inquires, please send an email to sales@indranetworks.com
