Neoteris Selects Indra's WebEnhance Technology

WebEnhance 100 accelerator enables Neoteris' SSL VPN appliance A5000 to provide faster response times to its users

Indra Networks announced today that Neoteris, a market leader in the SSL virtual private network (VPN) product category as well as a leader in the application security gateway market, has selected Indra's WebEnhance 100 product for its SSL VPN appliance, called the A5000. Indra's WebEnhance 100 network accelerator can compress web pages containing HTML, JavaScript, etc. in real-time before they are transmitted on the network, essentially expanding existing bandwidth capacity by up to 6x.

The IVE (Instant Virtual Extranet) serves as the platform for the Neoteris Secure Access family of SSL VPN appliances. The A5000 appliance enables a company to provide remote access to its employees securely. The WebEnhance 100 plugs into a PCI slot on A5000, and compresses data entirely in hardware offloading the CPU-intensive compression from the A5000. This allows the A5000 to run applications faster, provide a faster response time, and serve multiple clients with minimum latency. The "deflate" compression algorithm used in WebEnhance 100 is based on the well-known open source software gzip and zlib. This guarantees that the data compressed by WebEnhance 100 can be decompressed by all commonly used browsers on the client computer.
